The gatherings of the Alicante Bonfires in Albacete have come to an end. The 'Cremà' of 'The Festival of Everyone', the bonfire erected by Javier Gómez Morollón at the Fairground, was engulfed in flames on Saturday night.
An unexpected firecracker was responsible for igniting the various scenes, counterweights, and central body of this bonfire, much to the surprise of the Albacete residents who gathered at the Puerta de Hierros to witness and enjoy the spectacle.
Alongside them, a multitude of Alicante locals, from the front rows, called out to the firefighters from both cities with cries of "water, water, water," requesting the traditional June 'banyà'.
In total, 11,000 people gathered in 'La Sartén', enjoying the fireworks display with an apocalyptic earthquake by the Hermanos Sirvent pyrotechnics and the 'Cremà', also managed by the Alicante team.
Thus, the flames began to consume the scenes and counterweights of this bonfire. Meanwhile, the interior of the central body ignited from within until the flames began to emerge from its sides and spread to the top.
Gradually, the tallest 'ninots' fell, revealing the skeleton of this bonfire. Minute by minute, the materials disappeared, while the wood ended up on the ground.
Once the perimeter was secure, the candidates for 'bellea del foc' surrounded the embers to celebrate the traditional circle among the flames.
