On the afternoon of Wednesday, November 6, the teams working in the search operation for the missing people in Letur, Albacete, found two lifeless bodies. This news comes on the same day that the identity of one of the bodies found yesterday in this town was confirmed.
Initially, in this town, the Civil Guard was trying to locate 6 people who had disappeared due to the DANA. It remains to be confirmed that the bodies belong to a municipal worker and a woman named Mónica, who was swept away by the current on October 29 along with her husband Jonathan Muñoz, 37, originally from Archena (Murcia), when the house they were living in collapsed. If this is the case, the agents could withdraw the search operation for people.
However, the search phase will not yet be concluded. It is an option that could occur once the identity of all the bodies is confirmed, as it could be another person for whom there is no formal report of disappearance.
Precisely, DNA tests confirmed this Wednesday that one of the two bodies found on Tuesday five kilometers from Letur was that of Jonathan, who worked at the company "El Cantero de Letur", specializing in the production of organic dairy products. The delegate of the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha in Albacete, Pedro Antonio Ruiz Santos, confirmed the discovery of the six missing people, although he clarified that the search tasks will continue for several more days as it is possible that another person may have disappeared even though no one has missed them.
The search tasks have focused in recent hours on the area of the ravine - a delta created by the flood and full of mud and dragged branches - and in the Segura River where the Segura Hydrographic Confederation has authorized lowering the flow to facilitate the work of the Special Group of Underwater Activities (GEAS) of the Civil Guard and the firefighters. In total, about 200 personnel have worked in these tasks, including firefighters and Civil Guard agents with special units of divers and dogs specialized in locating people in the water.
