Blas Ruiz Grau Wins Costa Blanca Award at Alicante Noir

The festival Alicante Noir, in its fourth edition, will award writer Blas Ruiz Grau with the Costa Blanca Award 2025. The author from Rafal will attend Casa Mediterráneo - the venue of the event - on June 12 to participate in a special gathering where he will receive the distinction.

The decision to bestow this award upon Blas Ruiz is due to his remarkable career in crime fiction and his connection to the province of Alicante, having been born in Vega Baja.

Among his bibliography, notable works include 'El cuento del lobo' and 'El quebrantahuesos', which have enhanced his national profile as an "essential author", as detailed by Alicante Noir. "He has established himself as one of the most representative voices of the new generation of Spanish crime novels."

Of Blas Ruiz Grau, his trilogy featuring Inspector Nicolás Valdés ('No mentirás', 'No robarás', 'No morirás') also stands out, having been a great success with critics and the public, noted for its narrative pace, psychological depth, and precise documentation.

The award ceremony for the Costa Blanca Award 2025 will also feature author Santiago Díaz, winner of the last edition of the Alicante Noir, who will present his new novel to the attending audience.
