The Citroën C4, a model with a 'Made in Spain' label due to its exclusive production at the Stellantis Madrid plant, has reaffirmed its commercial success by becoming the best-selling car in the C-segment saloons during the first quarter of the year.

With a total of 5,552 units registered, the C4 not only leads its category but also strengthens its position with a notable market share of 15.9% so far this year, establishing itself as a benchmark in the Spanish automotive landscape.

The Citroën C4 stands out for its design, which is a blend between a compact saloon and an SUV/crossover, featuring a high waistline, plastic underbody protections, and a rear with an inclined window that gives it a unique personality. The design has been recently updated with more modern details and the brand's new emblem.

It offers a spacious interior for five occupants and a 380-litre boot, suitable for daily use and getaways.

It is available in petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric versions. The petrol version includes the 1.2 PureTech engine with 100 HP (6-speed manual transmission) and 130 HP (available with manual or automatic EAT8 transmission). The certified consumption is around 5.9 L/100km (WLTP).

The range has been strengthened with micro-hybrid (MHEV) versions of 100 HP and 145 HP (both with automatic e-DCS6 transmission), which allow obtaining the DGT's ECO label and promise more adjusted consumption, around 4.7-4.8 L/100km (WLTP).

In diesel, a 1.5 BlueHDi version with 130 HP and automatic EAT8 transmission is available, ideal for those who travel many kilometres and seek efficiency.

In electric, the ë-C4 is offered with two power and battery options. The 136 HP with a 50 kWh battery achieves up to 354 km of WLTP range, and with 156 HP and a 54 kWh battery, reaching up to 416 km of range.

The prices of the Citroën C4 start from approximately €21,500 for the entry-level versions with promotional discounts and can exceed €38,000 for the electric variants and the most equipped finishes.

Stellantis leads hybrid car sales in Europe

In addition to this success in Spain, April brought good news for the Stellantis group, which increased its share in the total EU30 market, with 17.3% of sales in April (0.1 percentage point more compared to April 2024). Two models are in the top ten sales: the Citroën C3 and the Peugeot 208, while the Citroën ë-C3 climbs to the podium of electric cars in the B-segment.

The positive trend in order intake continued, surpassing 1,000,000 units by mid-May, partly thanks to the Citroën C3/Aircross approaching 100,000 units and the Peugeot 3008 nearing 50,000.

Additionally, Stellantis confirms its leadership in hybrid car sales with a 15.1% share, which represents an increase of 4.7 percentage points compared to April 2024. Peugeot is the fastest-growing brand, reaching fourth place in the ranking.

In Spain, Stellantis reached the top position in the pure electric (BEV) segment in April, mainly due to the performance of the Citroën ë-C3 and the Peugeot E-2008, which are among the top 10 best-selling in the market.

In Italy, the Jeep Avenger is the best-selling in the SUV segment. In Germany, Stellantis recorded a 9.9% increase in passenger car volume and a 6% increase in the total market, with the Opel Corsa confirming its first position in the urban car segment, both in April and year-to-date.
