Alicante has chosen the best roscón in the province. The competition organised by influencer Elena Vidal, @alicantestreetstyle, delivered its verdict after tasting 28 desserts from various bakeries and pastry shops across different municipalities.
The popular jury, consisting of a dozen ordinary people who participated in the influencer's draw for this purpose, has determined that the best roscón in the province of Alicante is made and sold at Los dulces de Palmira bakery in Sant Joan d'Alacant.
The podium for the best Roscón de Reyes in Alicante is completed by J. Zaragoza's bakery in the Florida Portazgo neighbourhood, taking second place; and La Confitería de El Altet with the bronze. A special mention was also made to José María García's Gluten-Free Bakery in the Los Ángeles neighbourhood for its dessert with these characteristics.

The contest to choose the best roscón in Alicante was held this Friday at the Alicante Tasting Club on Santo Tomás Street, where the bakeries and pastry shops delivered their desserts from early morning.
All of these were numbered and arranged in two rows, from 1 to 14 and from 15 to 18; so that the jury members divided into two groups could evaluate three factors: appearance, aroma, and taste. The points from each section were added to select four finalists.
The @alicantestreetstyle contest included a second vote to establish the top three best roscones in the province of Alicante, crowning the dessert made at Los dulces de Palmira in Sant Joan d'Alacant as the winner.
The Alicante influencer broadcasted the voting results live and subsequently called the three establishments to deliver the news and celebrate the award with them. From the Sant Joan bakery, they expressed their excitement upon learning that their roscón is the best in the province of Alicante and proudly display the trophy prepared for the occasion.
