After nearly unanimous decisions on Tuesday, when only La Vila Joiosa continued with educational activities in its schools, the Marina Baixa region faces Wednesday with varied approaches.
Although Emergencies has not changed its stance and maintains a zero flood alert for the region, several town councils have decided to allow students to return to school.
The most populated municipality in the region, Benidorm, has confirmed that students can return to class on Wednesday. However, the same announcement advises caution as there is still a forecast for rain, with increased likelihood and intensity expected from noon onwards.
Similarly, l'Alfàs del Pi, which also suspended classes today, has confirmed the return to school in all its educational centres. Additionally, La Vila Joiosa, which kept classes on Tuesday, will also allow teaching activities.
On the other hand, municipalities that will continue the suspension of educational activities for another day include Xàbia, La Nucía, Finestrat, Altea, and Callosa d'en Sarrià. They have already announced their decision, meaning that schools in these areas will remain closed on Wednesday as well.
