Benidorm Local Police have seized 2,128 toys for failing to comply with national and European Union safety regulations.
The operation was conducted as part of the annual inspection and surveillance campaign carried out in toy retail stores during this time of year.
This material was seized in a store in the Rincón de Loix area, dedicated to the import and wholesale of toys, detailed the spokesperson for the Local Police, Enrique Tortosa, through a statement from the Town Hall.
Specifically, the most significant deficiencies found in the seized toys include lack of labeling, absence of instructions and safety warnings in Spanish, and the presence of parts or protruding edges that could cause injuries or pose a choking hazard to children due to small fragments that are not properly assembled.
The seized material has been handed over to the Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Commerce, and Tourism of the Valencian Government.
