Benidorm

It is widely known that the Benidorm Fest is a television and musical event designed to captivate all types of audiences, not only in the host city but throughout Europe, thanks to the Eurovision Song Contest, which the Benidorm event feeds into.
However, a new development is the festival's success in the world of Fallas. The children's monument from the Benidorm Centro district, dedicated to the Benidorm Fest and the origins of the Benidorm Song Festival, has won first prize in the city's children's fallas category, awarded by a jury from the Junta Central Fallera of Benifaió.
This piece is notably local, not only in its theme but also because it was created by Benidorm artist Sergio Sánchez. Indeed, the president of the El Centro Falla explained that their 2025 project "is a tribute to recent editions of the Benidorm Fest, as well as to the event that inspired it, the Benidorm International Song Festival."
The children's falla, featuring the Bronze Microphone as its central element, also includes figures of Chanel, Blanca Paloma, and Nebulossa, alongside historical figures from earlier editions such as Julio Iglesias.
Meanwhile, Els Tolls has swept the awards in the major monuments category, securing both the jury's top prize and the critics' award, judged by a panel of local journalists.
Under the motto "I'm not stupid, just older," the Els Tolls falla humorously critiques the digital divide that many elderly people face daily, especially when dealing with routine tasks like banking or administrative procedures. This year, the other Benidorm commission, Rincón de Loix, did not receive any awards.
