Benidorm is a globally renowned destination for its sun and beaches, but also for its ability to evolve and reinvent itself. Over the past decade, the city has delved into sustainable management of tourism activities, land, and natural resources. This commitment has been reinforced with the Green Pioneer 2025 title for Smart Tourism, an accolade from Europe that endorses the work and dedication of a city that has protected over 60% of its territory, boasts one of the most efficient potable water networks in the world, has increased its green spaces, and has embraced technology and innovation to enhance the tourist experience, improve residents' quality of life, and become more resilient to climate change.

A title that Benidorm will proudly display this year, dispelling old myths and confirming that environmental, economic, and social sustainability is not only compatible with welcoming nearly 3 million tourists annually and exceeding 16 million overnight stays, but that the model actively promotes it.

While sustainability permeates the destination, Benidorm presents tourists with its extraordinary urban beaches, charming coves, the Serra Gelada Natural Park, over 2.8 million square meters of green space, and its rich cultural and historical heritage—crowned this year with the celebration of the 700th anniversary of the city's founding. Its quality gastronomy and produce, ideal environment for sports, vibrant nightlife and daytime entertainment, a calendar of events for all audiences, and a destination with high accessibility indices in both public and private offerings are all showcased. All this under the banner of a city that champions Blue Tourism and looks to the sky with its iconic and unique skyline, a precursor of environmental sustainability.

In addition to highlighting its extensive range of plans available 52 weeks a year and demonstrating how they are managed sustainably and efficiently, during the International Tourism Fair in Madrid (Fitur), Benidorm will unveil the impressive program of activities designed to celebrate its achievements; a proposal that the European Commission valued highly when awarding the Green Pioneer 2025 title for Smart Tourism.

So, Benidorm, why not?
