Beatrice of York and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have welcomed Athena, their second daughter together and the third child of the businessman, into the world. The little one was born on January 22nd, earlier than expected, as the due date was initially set for early spring. Both the father and the royal household have announced the baby's arrival.
"Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born on Monday, January 22nd at 12:57 p.m.," the official statement reads. "The baby weighed 4 pounds and 5 ounces (approximately 1.95 kg). The King and Queen, along with other members of the royal family, have been informed and are thrilled with the news," it adds.
"Princess Beatrice and Mr. Mapelli Mozzi wish to thank all the hospital staff for their wonderful care. Her Royal Highness and her daughter are healthy, and the family is enjoying spending time together with Athena's older siblings, Wolfie and Sienna," concludes the statement issued by the royal family, accompanied by an image of the newborn.
Mapelli used the same photograph to share the good news with his followers: "Last week, we welcomed little Athena into our lives. She is tiny and absolutely perfect. We are all (including Wolfie and Sienna) already completely in love with her. Our hearts are overflowing with love for you, little Athena. My wife and I extend a huge thank you to all the wonderful staff at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their exceptional care and support during this incredibly special time."
