Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has instilled a single-minded focus in his players: win and disregard other matches. This mentality will be crucial as they face Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. The Blaugrana are aware that the derby between Real Madrid and Atlético presents a golden opportunity to tighten the La Liga race. However, the only way to seize this chance is by securing another victory to maintain their positive momentum. It's time for Barcelona to take advantage of the unsettled waters.

Barcelona's visit to Sevilla is a must-win. After a rough patch in November and December, the margin for error has significantly narrowed for the Catalans, necessitating the exploitation of every opportunity. They arrive at the Pizjuán unbeaten in ten consecutive matches across La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Champions League, with a chance to make a statement before a lighter schedule in the coming weeks. "We must focus on Sevilla now; we'll manage the upcoming weeks later. It's crucial for the players to rest both physically and mentally," stated Hansi Flick.

To secure victory at the Pizjuán, the German coach will rely on the core players who have revitalised the team in recent weeks. Gavi returns after a head injury against Alavés, and Dani Olmo may see action following his recovery from physical issues. These are the changes in a squad still missing Ter Stegen, Christensen, and Marc Bernal due to long-term injuries. With no matches next week, Flick can field his strongest lineup. Cubarsí and Araujo will be the centre-backs, Pedri and Casadó will control the midfield, and the attacking trio will aim to score. The only uncertainty is the attacking midfielder position, with Olmo, Fermín, or Gavi as options.

A Rival in No Man's Land

Sevilla, on the other hand, is yet to define its objectives. The Andalusian side started the season poorly, improved, and now faces uncertainty again. They find themselves in a league position that offers some relief from relegation but doesn't allow for European aspirations. García Pimienta's team, unbeaten in four matches but with only three wins in the last eleven, navigates these turbulent waters. The atmosphere in Nervión is tense, requiring a near-perfect performance to challenge Barcelona. "We must avoid silly mistakes as their quality is unforgiving. We need to be brave with the ball, defend well, know when to press, and make them uncomfortable," said Sevilla's coach.

To achieve this, Sevilla must overcome injuries to Akor Adams, José Ángel Carmona, Lokonga, and Nianzou. Despite these absences, they will field a team aiming to dominate possession, as their style is non-negotiable, with all eyes on Lukebakio, Vargas, and Romero, the trio expected to push for European contention in the season's second half.
