The Dianense shipping company, Baleària, has unveiled its largest maritime connection offer for the Operation Crossing the Strait. This is a historic schedule with 34 direct connections between North Africa and Spain from June 15 to September 15.
Baleària aims to serve the high demand concentrated during this period and will operate on the following routes: Tarifa-Tangier Ville, Algeciras-Tangier Med, Almería-Nador, Motril-Tangier Med, Málaga-Melilla, Algeciras-Ceuta, Valencia-Mostaganem, in addition to connections between Barcelona and Algiers and Oran.
One of the main novelties is the inclusion of the Tarifa-Tangier Ville route, where it will operate for the first time with up to 12 daily connections using two high-speed ships. This is complemented by new routes from Barcelona to Algiers and Oran or the expansion to three connections of the Valencia-Mostaganem corridor.
Baleària's general director, Georges Bassoul, highlighted "the largest historical offer for the operation of crossing the strait" and stated that "North Africa is our main international market, and we want to provide a quality, competitive service that meets the expectations of the thousands of customers who trust Baleària."
During the week, the shipping company will have 10 ships, including ferries and 'fast ferries'. These will offer various services, such as halal food catering and prayer rooms during the journey.
Connections with Morocco
Tarifa-Tangier Ville: Baleària operates 10 daily departures on the Tarifa-Tangier Ville line, which can be increased to 12, thanks to two fast ferries connecting both ports in a one-hour journey.
Algeciras-Tangier Med: The shipping company operates 8 daily services from Monday to Thursday with two ferries from the port of Algeciras to Tangier Med, which will increase to 9 departures from Friday to Sunday with the addition of a third ship.
Almería-Nador: Baleària operates two daily departures from the Almerian port, one at noon and another at night, which will increase to three on days of higher passenger demand.
Motril-Tangier Med: The Spanish maritime company has a connection between the Granada port and Tangier Med during the summer to meet passenger demand.
Algeciras-Ceuta: Baleària operates 9 daily connections between Algeciras and Ceuta, 5 in fast ferry and 4 in ferry, with departures throughout the day.
