This company, one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in India, was founded in 1945 by Shri Jamnalal Bajaj, interestingly the third adopted son of Mahatma Gandhi. It invoiced more than 122 billion euros last year through more than 40 unique companies. It is known that there are more than 36,000 employees.

Through Bajaj Auto, it consolidates as the most important importer of two and three-wheeled vehicles in its country. It has generated significant collaborations with European brands such as the Austrian KTM, of which 49% of the capital belongs to the Indian company, Husqvarna, Kawasaki, Piaggio, and Triumph. Currently, it manufactures more than 4.1 million units per year, 1.6 million dedicated to export. To date, this Group has sold more than 21 million motorcycles worldwide.

Through the agreement with Grupo UMA, the brand's exclusive partner and distributor, they land in Spain and Portugal to start conquering the European market from here. The Colombian group's forecast is to reach 35 sales points in Spain during the first quarter of next year (plus 15 in Portugal) and for this, they present two brands called Dominar and Pulsar and, in the near future, the electric scooter Chetak.

The first two models to be marketed in our country start with the Pulsar NS125, a low-displacement Naked, single-cylinder engine with almost 12 horsepower, and a first-class image and finish. We had the opportunity to test it on a closed circuit with striking details such as good adaptation to the asphalt, with excellent performance, although the engine currently offers smooth but sufficient performance for beginners, with a seat height of only 805 millimeters. It has a five-speed gearbox and ABS brake anti-lock in the braking safety section. The price at which it will be marketed is 2,750 euros with a three-year warranty, extendable up to five, and the possibility of transfer during any period.

On the other hand, the Dominar 400 with just over 40 horsepower, ideal for the A2 driving license, is a motorcycle with a bit more protection that allows for longer journeys with good suspensions and brakes. The gearbox is a six-speed manual, and in the brakes section, it includes ABS brake anti-lock, all with a final price of 4,999 euros with the same warranties as the previous model. With this same engine, the Naked version called Pulsar 400 will also be marketed at the end of the year.

In both models, the instrumentation is reflected on TFT screens with a lot of information available through them, and the lighting is entrusted to LED technology.

At the presentation event in Madrid, the vice president of Bajaj Auto Group commented: «It is a privilege to announce our arrival in Spain, as it is a market with a growing demand in the field of motorcycles that will serve as a growth lever in Europe. We are convinced that our models, such as the Bajaj Dominar 400 and the Pulsar NS 125, will be well received among Spanish motorcyclists, thanks to our premium quality and advanced technology. We are sure that both models will meet the needs of the most demanding motorcyclists, as well as attract other enthusiasts to this field that is growing so much in this country, which in 2023 led, along with Italy, the growth of motorcycle registrations in Europe. As with all our products, we have used the highest quality standards for the design of these motorcycles that we believe will revolutionize the Spanish two-wheeler market.»

Interestingly, this brand allocates about 500 million euros annually to R&D and has a design center in Barcelona with the technical creator of the Ducati Panigale as an executive.
