The 'Back to School' of Alicante's Educational Centers

One week before children in Alicante return to school, the Alicante City Council has not taken a summer break and is finishing the final touches on a comprehensive cleaning and disinfection plan for educational centers to ensure that students find their schools as good as new, both inside and out.

This plan consists of two parts: the first one focuses on the interior of the buildings, including classrooms and general facilities. In July, the school cleaning service carried out an extraordinary cleaning and disinfection service for restrooms and common areas used by teaching and auxiliary staff (teachers' lounge, concierge, teachers' restrooms). In addition to thorough cleaning, waste and items were removed and transported to landfills as requested by the schools.

In July and August, specialized tasks were performed such as floor treatment, interior and exterior window cleaning, exterior blind cleaning, maintenance of downspouts and drains, cleaning of interior and exterior light points, replacement of soap and paper dispensers, general cleaning of dining rooms, common areas, libraries, and gyms, removal of items, and installation of curtains and drapes.

Moreover, in these weeks leading up to the start of the school year, cleaning and disinfection of sanitary services and installations; desks, study tables, blackboards, and other school furniture; children's playgrounds and safety surfaces in play areas; outdoor areas and sports courts including trash bins, tables, benches, and sandboxes are being carried out.
