Autonomy is the primary concern for 65.4% of Spaniards when deciding to switch to an electric car. Additionally, 58% of citizens would use an electric car daily, and low fuel consumption is the most important factor in their purchasing decision for 58.3% of citizens, while the lack of autonomy and the scarcity of charging points remain significant obstacles to their widespread adoption.

These are two of the conclusions from the study 'Peugeot 2025: Present and Future of the Automotive Sector', conducted by the French-origin manufacturer in Spain.

The analysis conducted by the brand reveals that other fears of Spanish users when switching from a combustion vehicle to an electric one include: lack of charging points (58.2%), car prices (58.2%), long charging times (43.2%), and lack of state aid (16.4%).

Respondents in the study perceive that the support electric vehicles are receiving is insufficient and rate the price as the major weakness of these cars when making a sustainable transition.

"50.1% of Spaniards would be willing to pay more for an electric car if it offers additional features such as greater autonomy, faster charging, or better incorporated technology. Likewise, 41.2% of Spaniards would be willing to pay a little more if the prices were affordable and they could afford it," stated Peugeot.

35% of Peugeot's registrations in Europe currently belong to electrified vehicles, making the brand a leader in sales on the continent in terms of sustainable models. Specifically, sales of electric vehicles increased by 8% in 2024 compared to 2023 across Europe, with Peugeot doubling its orders for electric cars during this period.

With a total of 1.1 million registrations in 2024, Peugeot has been the European leader in the electric B-Hatch segment with the Peugeot E-208 and also in the light electric commercial vehicle segment with the Peugeot E-Partner, Peugeot E-Expert, and Peugeot E-Boxer.

Currently, the brand offers 12 electric models in the market and several models that feature a range exceeding 500 kilometers, such as the E-3008 and E-5008, especially in their 'Long Range' versions with up to 700 kilometers and 668, respectively.
