Many uncertainties surround Hércules as the 24-25 season concludes. The 17 defeats and relegation numbers recorded in the second half have created a tense atmosphere, and planning for the 25-26 season is progressing slowly. The first decision for the club will concern their coach, Rubén Torrecilla, who, despite having a valid contract, faces scrutiny from the management. The Extremaduran coach has taken a week's vacation to his homeland and will meet with technical secretary Paco Peña and owner Enrique Ortiz upon his return to discuss his future.
Regarding the squad's ins and outs, much remains to be done as players with contracts for next year may need to leave, as they are not seen as fitting into a team that must fight for promotion. The departure of veteran Josema is an open secret, and Abraham del Moral, who has not impressed as a full-back or centre-back in a year marked by injuries, might follow suit. It remains to be seen if Montoro and Sotillos will stay, along with Retu and Samu Vázquez. All have contracts, but there is no room due to the limitation on players over 23 years old.
In the midfield, Hércules has decided to offer a contract renewal to the Canary Islander José Artiles, and the signing of Ben Hamed from Amorebieta is confirmed. Roger Colomina and Carlos Mangada are under contract, while Mario García will pack his bags after a virtually blank second half of the season.
In the attack, Antonio Aranda's departure is almost certain. He dazzled at times but ended up without prominence due to inconsistency and physical issues. Dani Romera, undoubtedly the season's biggest disappointment, will also leave, a figure that has also undermined Torrecilla, as he was a personal choice. Additionally, Hércules will attempt to secure the loan of under-23 Yanis Senhadji again after the setback of his injury during his debut against Yeclano in January. Argentine Agus Coscia seems to be part of next season's equation. The hero of the promotion against Lleida finished the season as the second top scorer with eight goals, a tally only surpassed by Oriol Soldevila, with eleven.
