Arrests, fights, drug trafficking, criminal organisations, gender violence, accidents, fires, rescues, and many other incidents will hit the screens in Alicante and the region with 'Emergències', the new show on À Punt.

The Valencian public broadcaster has unveiled its new audiovisual project, which will air on Tuesday nights, premiering on 25 March at 10:45 PM. The launch of this programme, consisting of ten weekly episodes, was celebrated at the Burjassot Programme Centre.

The presentation event was attended by the president of the Valencian Community Audiovisual Corporation (Cacvsa), Vicente Ordaz, the general director of À Punt, Paco Aura, and representatives from state security forces as well as the regional Health Emergency Service.

Each episode of the new programme 'Emergències' will last 60 minutes and will dynamically and publicly showcase the frenetic and lesser-known work of state security forces and regional health emergency services, as they have announced.

Through true stories, the programme follows the protagonists in their daily lives, both in action-packed moments and in the human side of the men and women who ensure our safety and well-being. Viewers will step into the shoes of firefighters, agents, and health workers to experience firsthand how they act and react in emergency situations.

To bring this project to life, the team of about 25 people has relied on the invaluable help and collaboration of: the National Police Corps, the National Police Unit assigned to the Valencian Community, the Civil Guard, Customs Surveillance, the Provincial Fire Consortiums of Valencia, Alicante, and Castelló, the Valencia City Firefighters, Maritime Rescue, the Valencian Community Health Emergency Service, and the Generalitat Emergency Coordination Centre.

The Reality of the Streets

The team of professionals behind 'Emergències' will offer a new way of storytelling thanks to the strategic placement of cameras. This is one of the strengths of this show, as the result provides viewers with a real and agile image.

On the other hand, it is a risky programme because the cameras capture what is happening without any initial guidance that conditions the content of each episode. The show depicts and narrates what happens, for better or worse. During filming, the team never knows what or who they will encounter. Unlike other formats, the shoots are not pre-scripted. The only script it follows is the reality of the streets.

There have been countless hours of filming, day and night, weekdays and weekends. The Emergency teams have adapted to the schedules and dates of their protagonists: shifts, alerts, operations, special devices, etc.

"A Reality Often Unknown"

During the presentation, the president of the Valencian Community Audiovisual Corporation, Vicente Ordaz, commented that "as a public television, our commitment is to bring viewers the work of state security forces, a reality that is often unknown, which must and deserves to be recognised and valued by society." He added that the realism it shows might "serve as a reference for new generations to pursue this work in the future."

Meanwhile, the series director, Alfredo Pérez de Albéniz, expressed his gratitude to these state security forces: "To all of them, we want to convey our gratitude because they have made us feel like one of them and have allowed us to produce 'Emergències', a television programme that has been a professional challenge and an unforgettable experience."

"Although it is difficult to quantify the number of hours invested, we can estimate an average of about 12 hours per shoot. Not all topics have come out on the first try; in fact, we often had to dedicate several days to gather enough material to tell a good story. We narrate the reality of emergencies in its purest form," Albéniz explained.
