Man Arrested in Vigo for Setting Ex-Partner on Fire

The National Police arrested a man this morning in Vigo after he doused his 30-year-old ex-partner with flammable liquid and subsequently set her on fire.

The incident occurred early this morning as the woman was about to leave her home. At that moment, according to police sources, the detainee threw flammable liquid on the victim. The young woman, who managed to extinguish the flames, alerted a family member who then contacted the police authorities.

Police officers arrived at the scene, on Valadares Road (Vigo), and arrested the man identified by the initials B.R.R. He resisted arrest and attempted to assault National Police officers with a beer bottle, according to details provided by the Government Subdelegation.

The victim is currently hospitalized at Povisa Hospital with burns covering approximately 35% of her body. It is expected that she will be transferred to Juan Canalejo Hospital in A Coruña in the coming hours.
