Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Granddaughter Over Years; Wife Charged for Cover-Up

Justice has ordered the provisional detention of a man arrested last Thursday, June 5, in Ibiza, as the alleged perpetrator of a continuous sexual assault crime, for allegedly abusing his granddaughter over the years. On the morning of Thursday, June 5, National Police officers arrested a couple in Ibiza as alleged perpetrators of a continuous sexual assault crime, in the case of the man, and for failing to prevent crimes, in the case of the woman.

The investigation began following a complaint filed by the UFAM Group, in which the minor's parents, who accompanied her, reported that the young girl revealed she had been sexually assaulted by her grandfather over several years up to the present day.

The minor's parents also informed the National Police that she had told them her grandmother, although not directly witnessing the events, never made any attempt to find out what was happening between her and her husband, with sufficient evidence to suggest she was aware of the sexual violence her granddaughter was subjected to.

Subsequently, within the framework of the current investigation, another family member of the suspects was interviewed, as this same man attempted to sexually abuse her, although she did not report it at the time. This statement, along with the analysis of the complaint filed by the minor's parents and other details that were uncovered, led investigators to confirm the credibility of the reported events.

For all these reasons, police officers first located the man and then his wife, proceeding to arrest them as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of continuous sexual assault and failure to prevent crimes, respectively.

The alleged perpetrators and the investigation report have already been presented to the judicial authorities, where provisional detention has been ordered for the man.
