On Tuesday night, the Mossos d'Esquadra arrested six individuals in Salt (Girona) in connection with the riots protesting the eviction of an imam in the city.
Between 80 and 100 hooded individuals gathered on Tuesday evening, causing disturbances and clashes with the police after throwing cans and stones.
The unannounced gathering began around 7:30 PM, and by 9:45 PM, the protesters were still on the streets, according to the Mossos d'Esquadra, who reported no police injuries. The disturbances occurred between Manuel de Falla Street and Salt Town Hall Square, where the Mossos deployed a unit.
The events trace back to Friday when an imam and his family were evicted; on Monday night, protesters also caused disturbances at the city's police station, throwing eggs and stones.
Sources from the Mossos d'Esquadra have confirmed that the detainees will appear in court this Wednesday.
