La Guardia Civil has arrested a man for allegedly rigging an electronic roulette wheel in a gaming hall in Callosa de Segura. The suspect, who already had a criminal record for similar incidents, used a drill to pierce the machine's glass and stopped the wheel with a wire at the desired position.
Using this technique, he had accumulated 8,000 euros and was carrying 6,300 euros in cash. According to the armed institute, the events occurred on March 6, when a patrol was alerted about an individual tampering with a slot machine. Officers caught the suspect in the act.
At that moment, the alleged perpetrator attempted to flee through an emergency exit of the gaming hall, but the officers apprehended him moments later in the parking lot, where he put up strong resistance.
During a search of his belongings, officers found over 6,300 euros in cash and a drill, which he had used to pierce the roulette wheel. Upon verifying his identity, it was confirmed that he had ten search and arrest warrants issued by different Spanish courts, all related to similar offenses.
The detainee, a 42-year-old Moroccan national, was brought before the Orihuela Instruction Court No. 3, which ordered his imprisonment.
