Man Arrested for Filming Two Women in a Torrevieja Gym Shower

The Civil Guard has arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly filming two women in the showers of a gym in Torrevieja. The alleged perpetrator sneaked into the women's locker room and filmed the victims with a phone above the shower cubicle.

The incident occurred on May 28, when a woman went to the Torrevieja Main Post to report that on that same day, while she was showering in the gym's locker room, someone had filmed her. According to the complainant, she noticed a hand holding a phone protruding above the shower cubicle. She immediately informed another user of the sports centre, and both reported the incident to the staff.

A few days later, a second woman came forward to report similar incidents occurring at the same establishment. Subsequently, the Civil Guard launched an investigation, coordinating with the centre's staff to gather the necessary evidence.

The swift action of the officers allowed them to identify the suspect, arresting him and minimising the risk of the images being distributed and the harm to the victims' privacy. Additionally, the officers seized two mobile phones, which have been submitted for judicial analysis, according to investigative sources.

Finally, the detainee, a 30-year-old Spanish man, charged with two alleged offences against honour, privacy and personal image, has been brought before the Court of Instruction No. 3 of Torrevieja, which has ordered his release.
