Last Wednesday, July 31, the Local Police of Elche were conducting a vehicle checkpoint in the Torrellano district when they stopped a driver. Upon being stopped, the driver exhibited a nervous demeanor and provided incoherent responses, according to reports from the Elche City Council.
Noticing this unusual behavior, the security officers directed him to an area where they could inspect both the vehicle and its occupants. During this inspection, the officers discovered a rocky powdery substance in the glove compartment, wrapped in plastic, which exceeded the legal limit for drug trafficking, as it weighed 105 grams.
Additionally, during a superficial pat-down of the vehicle's occupants, another package containing the same substance was found on one of them, weighing 1.87 grams.
These two men, aged 34 and 49, have been arrested and taken to police headquarters, while the vehicle has been impounded at the municipal vehicle depot.
