Man Arrested for Chasing Ex-Wife in Car and Attempting to Force Her Off the Road with Reckless Driving

Officers from the National Police in Seville have arrested a man who, following an argument with his ex-partner, pursued her in his vehicle as she left the scene in another car with their seven-year-old daughter.

According to the National Police, the suspect attempted, through a series of dangerous driving manoeuvres, to block her path with his vehicle and even tried to force her off the road despite their daughter being inside the car.

The National Police received a call on Tuesday afternoon at the CIMACC091 Intelligence and Command Centre in Seville from a woman reporting that she was being chased by her ex-husband.

The woman had gone to the town of La Rinconada to pick up her seven-year-old daughter and, following an argument with her ex-partner and the child's father, left the location with the child in her own vehicle. It was shortly afterwards that she realised she was being pursued by her ex-partner in another car.

This pursuit, according to the victim, escalated into a series of dangerous and aggressive manoeuvres aimed at preventing her from driving, even attempting to block her path and force her off the road despite knowing their daughter was inside the vehicle.

During this ordeal, the victim managed to call 091, maintaining direct contact with the telephone operators, who were able to provide real-time updates to the dispatched police units about the victim's changing locations.

Thanks to this coordination and the ability to maintain communication with the victim, the aggressor was intercepted, and the threat to the woman and her young daughter was neutralised.
