Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Mother-in-Law with an Axe in Mallorca

The Civil Guard has arrested a man for allegedly killing a woman with an axe in a house in Colònia de Sant Jordi, part of the municipality of Ses Salines, in the southeast of the island of Mallorca.

The incident reportedly occurred around 7:30 PM this Wednesday, and agents from the Armed Institute are still at the property conducting a forensic examination, according to sources from the institute.

Although the motives behind the attack are still unknown, initial hypotheses from the Civil Guard suggest that the two individuals were mother-in-law and son-in-law. However, there is no clear statement yet on whether it could be a case of gender violence also involving the alleged killer's wife.
