On Tuesday afternoon, a large security operation in Manila Square, located in Alicante's El Pla district, resulted in the arrest of six individuals for immigration violations and outstanding judicial warrants, as well as the identification of 38 others, according to TodoAlicante. The operation was coordinated by officers from the National Police, Alicante Local Police, and the National Police Attached to the Valencian Community.

In addition to the personal checks, inspections were carried out in two local establishments. These actions led to three infraction reports: two for deficiencies in mandatory insurance and signage, and a third for lacking the necessary opening license, according to the same sources.

These operations are part of a preventive surveillance plan and regulatory compliance control in urban areas with high activity concentration. The consulted sources indicate that the operation proceeded without notable incidents and that such interventions will continue "as a measure of prevention and reinforcement of public safety."

The Manila Square area has been under special surveillance in recent months due to increased conflict and irregular presence, according to police sources.

A Troubled Area

The El Pla area and its surroundings are not experiencing their best times in terms of tranquility. On May 4th, a street brawl in the Pla Boulevard involving dozens of young Maghrebi and Spanish individuals resulted in a dozen arrests, eight of whom were minors, four injuries, and a confiscated katana.

Several residents' calls to the CIMACC 091 Room, alerting about the brutal fight with blunt objects, prompted a swift police deployment of several National Police patrols, supported by the Alicante Local Police, to neutralize the fracas.

"The Boulevard, especially the Tram stop area of Garbinet, has worsened. There's more crime," lamented a resident and witness of the incident. Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Alicante City Council's Government team, Cristina Cutanda, thanked the quick response of the National Police and Local Police officers in the brawl, which prevented further harm, and assured that they would not allow such incidents to occur again. "We consider Alicante a safe city and will not tolerate this type of violence," the councillor stated.
