Arrest Made in Alleged Murder at Torrevieja's Eras de la Sal

On Sunday, 17th November, a body was discovered at the Eras de la Sal site in Torrevieja. Within hours, the Civil Guard arrested the alleged perpetrator, a 29-year-old local known to the authorities for previous offences against property. The suspect has been remanded in custody without bail by order of the Torrevieja Court of Instruction No. 2.

Investigations began last Sunday when officers received information about a possible homicide that allegedly took place the previous Thursday. According to reports, the crime occurred following a dispute between two men inside an abandoned facility in Torrevieja, after which the perpetrator allegedly moved the body to conceal it.

A patrol from the Torrevieja Main Post was dispatched to the location, where they found blood traces and subsequently the victim's body, covered with a wooden plank and a stone. Members of the Torrevieja Territorial Judicial Police Team took over the investigation.

During the initial inspection of the site, various pieces of evidence were collected and are currently being analysed. Simultaneously, efforts were made to identify the alleged perpetrator, a Torrevieja resident known to the Civil Guard for previous offences against property.

The information was shared with all patrols in the area, leading to the suspect's arrest while he was walking through the town centre, just hours after the investigation began. The operation was supported by the Torrevieja Main Post, the Forensic Laboratory, the Homicide Group of the Alicante Judicial Police Unit, and the Torrevieja Local Police.

The Civil Guard expresses gratitude for the collaboration and joint effort of all units involved in this case, which allowed for a swift and effective resolution of the events.
