Approximately 41 specialised Red Cross volunteers and technicians have attended to 124 individuals in the province of Alicante following the power outage that occurred this Monday in Spain, according to the provisional report provided by the organisation at 4 PM this Tuesday.

Most of the assistance was given to individuals with mobility issues or difficulty accessing their homes, as well as for social care and oxygen management at home, among other situations.

Requests for help came directly to Red Cross offices or via 112. Among the most notable interventions was the distribution of 105 blankets and food and drink to around 50 people affected by the halt in railway services, who spent Monday night at the Alicante train station, as explained by the organisation in a statement.

In addition to the 41 volunteers and technicians, the organisation mobilised 13 vehicles, including ambulances and logistics vehicles, and 12 local Red Cross offices recorded requests from the public for some of their services.
