Volkswagen has announced the launch of "Approved" in Spain, its new pre-owned vehicle programme aimed at consolidating trust and transparency in the purchase of second-hand cars.
This initiative strengthens the brand's commitment to the digital channel and its extensive official dealership network, offering customers a pre-owned Volkswagen with full guarantees.
The programme responds to the growing demand in the pre-owned vehicle market (VO), which closed 2024 with a growth of over 8.5%, according to Ganvam data, where for every new car sold, 2.1 second-hand cars are sold in Spain.
"We want those who purchase a pre-owned Volkswagen to feel they are making a safe, transparent purchase without compromising on anything," explains Enrique Pifarré, General Director of Volkswagen in Spain. Pifarré adds that the pre-owned vehicle is "an excellent option for many customers and also a great tool to rejuvenate our car fleet, which, with an average age of over 14 years, poses a serious problem in terms of road safety and the environment."
Volkswagen Approved has a dual objective: to give visibility to the pre-owned vehicle offerings of the official network (passenger cars and commercial vehicles) and to enhance the customer experience. To this end, the brand has enabled a digital vehicle search engine on its own website, allowing users to check available models and contact the dealership directly via WhatsApp, phone, or web form.
"With Approved, we want to offer customers a safe and reliable way to access a pre-owned Volkswagen, with all the guarantees of our dealership network. The key is to combine the best of the digital environment with the expertise of our professionals," says Pifarré.
The official Volkswagen network, with 131 facilities across the national territory, is the central pillar of Approved. Unlike other platforms, the vehicles come directly from authorised dealerships, who know the product, have inspected it, and offer specialised advice without intermediaries.
