The Professional and Independent Association of Prosecutors (APIF) has requested the Supreme Court (TS) to bring the Attorney General of the State, Álvaro García Ortiz, to trial and to sentence him to 6 years in prison and 12 years of disqualification for a crime of prevarication in conjunction with a continuous crime of disclosure of secrets.
This is stated in the indictment filed by the APIF, which acts as the popular prosecution represented by lawyers Juan Antonio Frago, Verónica Suárez, Álvaro Bernad Sánchez, and Napoleón Cánovas.
In the same document, García Ortiz is addressed as the perpetrator of these crimes and the head of the Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Madrid, Pilar Rodríguez, as a necessary collaborator in the same crimes. For her, they demand 4 years of imprisonment and another 12 years of disqualification.
Additionally, they request that the former Secretary of Organization of the PSOE, Santos Cerdán, among others, testify at the trial.
They accuse both of a disclosure of secrets against Alberto González Amador, the boyfriend of the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, for the alleged leak of a key email between his lawyer and the Prosecutor's Office to negotiate a plea agreement in the framework of the investigation against him for tax crimes.
