Efforts to locate victims continue unabated following the DANA of October 29. While a deceased woman was found in Sedaví on Saturday, another lifeless body was discovered on Sunday in the municipality of Ribarroja, as confirmed by sources from the Civil Guard of Valencia.
This new discovery raises the death toll to 219, while the number of missing persons remains at 13, according to the latest update from the Data Integration Centre (CID). The body was reportedly found on one of the banks of the Poyo ravine as it passes through the locality, in an agricultural area quite close to where the flow meter was destroyed by the force and magnitude of the flood.
Specialists from the Civil Guard participated in the location and transfer of the body. Members of the Rural Security Group found it, as added by the Civil Guard. The area was also being worked on by units from the Military Emergency Unit (UME) and trained dogs.
A helicopter from the Civil Guard was activated for the transfer of this new body. Once the body was lifted by the duty court, it was taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) in Valencia for an autopsy and the corresponding comparison with fingerprints or DNA provided by the relatives of the missing persons.
