"It was a balanced match where we had opportunities, but we couldn't score, we lacked precision. We could have taken the lead, but when they scored, they did it twice and drained all our energy. It was a different game, and they hurt us a lot on the counter," stated Carlo Ancelotti this Saturday after his team's defeat in the classic against Barcelona.

The Italian coach believes that his team did not deserve such punishment and avoids dramatics despite the setback of the four-goal difference with which the match ended. "We don't have to throw everything away, we just need to forget the last 30 minutes. We must not give up, but learn. We came out very well from the last defeat and must do the same," he said, while assuring that "until they took the lead, we had more opportunities than them."

It was a defeat marked by the frustration of the whites. Real Madrid crashed into the offside trap eleven times, a tactic that Flick exploited to the fullest and in which Mbappé fell on numerous occasions. "We took risks with his position on the field. They played with a high line, and we almost took advantage of it. He had three or four opportunities," said the Italian.

Ancelotti also spoke about the consequences that such a tough defeat could have and cited the last defeat his team suffered a year ago, which led to 42 consecutive matches without a loss. "We have to get up. We must continue competing and fighting, as we did after losing the derby last year. We will not be far from last season," he stated.

Finally, Ancelotti spoke about the clash he had with one of Flick's assistants after the fourth goal by the Blaugrana. "He was not a gentleman, celebrating the goal towards our bench. And Flick agreed with us," he concluded.
