Everything is proceeding as planned. Following the farewell of Xabi Alonso from Bayer Leverkusen and before his official signing with Real Madrid, the club will have to bid farewell to Carlo Ancelotti, who still has a year left on his contract but has already agreed to his departure with Florentino Pérez to take charge of the Brazilian national team.

According to The Athletic, the plan is for the announcement of Carletto's end of tenure to be made, regardless of the outcome, early next week, between El Clásico and the Wednesday match against Mallorca at 21:30 at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Italian will not continue on the Madrid bench even if he conquers Montjuic and wins the League three matches later.

Both the president and Ancelotti are convinced that this announcement should not distract the players if they are still in the running for La Liga; quite the opposite, in fact. They believe it will provide more motivation to give a grand farewell to the most decorated coach in Real Madrid's history. Ancelotti will leave the club after two successful stints, especially the second, during which he has won no less than 15 titles: three Champions Leagues, two La Ligas, two Copa del Reys, three UEFA Super Cups, two Spanish Super Cups, and three Club World Cups.

Once his departure is communicated, the contract between the Reggiolo coach and Brazil will be formalised. It is expected that Ancelotti will already be leading the Canarinha in the June matches against Paraguay and Ecuador, which are qualifiers for the World Cup. The remaining question is who will coach Real Madrid in the Club World Cup, which will take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13. Santiago Solari was initially considered, but Xabi Alonso is becoming a stronger candidate.
