"UA is going to +". This is the slogan that candidate Amparo Navarro has chosen to carry out her electoral campaign for the rectorship of the academic institution. Following this revelation is the presentation of her team, which, if she renews her position, will add a new vice-rectorate, reaching a dozen areas, for the next term.
This step was taken during the morning of this Friday through a brief email sent to the media: "You can check the curriculum of the entire team on the website https://amparonavarroua.com".
It is on the site where a greeting from Navarro appears along with a brief summary of the sections that will soon be published: her electoral program and key ideas. With these, the first section, the team, is already available with new faces, some coming from second and third tiers and others from the Faculties.

Amparo Navarro's new team includes a change in the general secretariat of the University of Alicante. The current deputy general secretary will replace Esther Algarra, who has held this position since 2015, at the end of Manuel Palomar's first term.
Another change within 'the house' - as the current Rectorate is called - occurs in the Vice-Rectorate of Equality, Inclusion, and Social Responsibility. The current head of the area, Eva Espinar, steps aside from the direction and hands over the position to Professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health Carmen Vives Cases, who has remained in the second tier as Director of the Secretariat of Equality in Navarro's first term.
Likewise, the Rectorate building will have - if Navarro renews her position - two new faces in this area of the campus. They are the current Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences, Raúl Ruiz Collado, who will become Vice-Rector of Students and Employment, replacing Rosario Ferrer; and Professor of Educational Technology Rosabel Roig Vila in a new rectorate.
This new area will cover Permanent Training and Languages - the first, apparently with intentions to strengthen, in addition to the center itself and other issues and areas, the 'senior university' project, while the second leaves the vice-rectorate of Francisco Torres, who repeats in the team with Studies and Quality - and will be led by Roig, who has been Dean of the Faculty of Education from 2005 to 2009 and Director of the University Institute of Education Sciences from 2016 to 2021.
Another change comes in the designation of the responsibilities of María Jesús Pastor, whose vice-rectorate changes from Transfer, Innovation, and Scientific Dissemination to Transfer, Entrepreneurship, and Scientific Dissemination. With Pastor and Torres, the rest of the team remains as in the current term.
The section corresponding to the team on Amparo Navarro's campaign website brings arts and territory to the forefront. If the general secretariat appears in the first position, the second is occupied by the Vice-Rectorate of Culture, Sports, and University Extension - it seems to add the plural compared to the current term whose name includes Sport - in which Professor Catalina Iliescu will continue.
After that, the three new faces that move to the front row of the UA Rectorate, Raúl Ruiz, Rosabel Roig, and Carmen Vives. However, with Paco Torres in between. Following these, Salvador Ivorra continues with the Vice-Rectorate of Infrastructure, Sustainability, and Occupational Safety; Juan Mora - current acting rector - with the Vice-Rectorate of Research; and Luis Alfonso Martínez with the Vice-Rectorate of Academic Organization and Faculty.
The ranks continue with Ángel Sánchez in the Vice-Rectorate of Economic and Strategic Planning, Rosa María Martínez-Espinosa in the Vice-Rectorate of International Relations and Development Cooperation; María Jesús Pastor in the Vice-Rectorate of Transfer, Entrepreneurship, and Scientific Dissemination - her designation has also changed -; Rafael Molina in the Vice-Rectorate of Digital Transformation and Julio García in the Management of the University of Alicante.
