Almudena Rodríguez López: "I was born and raised in the Fiesta, to which I dedicate my free time"

Almudena Rodríguez López fully embraces the official festivities of Alicante, the Fogueres de Sant Joan. "I was born and raised in the Fiesta, so I have always dedicated my free time to it." She does so in her district, Avenida de Loring-Estació.

It is there where she meets with her friends and family who "are also part of the Fiesta." This Alicante native openly admits that the Alicante Bonfires "are part of my personality and my daily life," adding that "my life practically revolves around them."

Almudena Rodríguez López has an extensive festive history. She has been an honorary maid in three occasions, a child beauty queen, an adult honorary maid twice, and a beauty queen in 2024. Currently, she is a candidate for the Bellea del Foc of Alicante.

Moreover, this Alicante native eagerly awaits the month of June to enjoy all the events of the Bonfires. Especially the "plantà," her favourite because "it represents the beginning of the best days of the year and is a day of brotherhood, coexistence, and teamwork."

During the four days of celebration, she accumulates numerous memories and shares one of them. She recalls the night of the "plantà" on June 20th, when her bonfire group takes a bus tour through the Special Bonfires. One night they arrived at the Polígono de San Blas and "there was no one dancing because they were setting up," so the DJ, seeing so many people arrive, turned up the music and taught them to dance 'The Worm Song.' "Since then, it has been a tradition to stop there to dance it because the DJ is always waiting for us."
