Las Hogueras de Alicante are beginning to fill every corner of the city. On June 17, one of the festival-goers' favourite moments in the days leading up to the big week will arrive: the Arribada del Foc.
The facade of El Corte Inglés in Maisonnave will become the stage for this pyromusical show. Moreover, the 2025 edition will hold special significance. The Hermanos Sirvent pyrotechnics will be responsible for the display, paying tribute to the recently deceased pyrotechnician Pedro Luis Sirvent, who dreamed of designing this edition with his team.

"He had a tremendous enthusiasm for creating the Arribada del Foc," explained Vicente Solaz of Hermanos Sirvent, the company in charge of the display. "It won't be a typical tribute with flowers or applause. The best image will be for him to see what we are going to do in this different and surprising show."
This is how the Arribada del Foc will be
The Arribada del Foc will be divided into two parts: the first, more playful and light-hearted, with current music and Eurovision references like 'Tattoo' by Loreen or Spanish music like 'El fin del mundo'; and a second, more solemn part, which will include the pasodoble Festa en Benidorm and the anthem of les Fogueres. The soundtrack will intertwine with very diverse pyrotechnics, mixing single shots, ground effects, sustainable elements, and, as a novelty, a circular shooting structure at 360 degrees from 21 meters high, integrated into the facade.
"We are going to launch shots in all directions, with an effect never seen here before. If it goes as it should, it will be very spectacular," the pyrotechnician anticipated. The show, lasting about 13 minutes and 20 seconds, will include 49.8 kilos of gunpowder distributed in more than 1,380 firing orders. "Beyond the quantity, what matters is the quality. It will be one of the most innovative and spectacular shows in recent years," he added.
From the organization, Silvia Aguilar, Director of Communication at El Corte Inglés, expressed her satisfaction with this XIII edition of the show. Aguilar revealed the songs that will be played and explained that surprises are kept under wraps, like the second song that will be played.

Alicante art takes centre stage on the facade of El Corte Inglés during the Hogueras
This year, El Corte Inglés has relied on local talent to shape its festive image. The special Hogueras poster that will decorate its facade during the city's big days is the work of Alicante designer José Miguel Guillem, who has also created the Arribada del Foc posters, one of the most anticipated events on the pre-Fogueres calendar.
Guillem's selection is part of the company's commitment to making Alicante creators visible and supporting them, giving them a showcase of great projection during the festivities. His work will not only be seen in large format on the emblematic facade of the Maisonnave centre, but it has also inspired a limited edition of exclusive tote bags, available to the public at El Corte Inglés.
With this initiative, the firm reinforces its commitment to the Hogueras and the promotion of local art and design, integrating creativity and tradition in one of the most visible campaigns of the Alicante festive calendar.
The president of the Federació de Fogueres, David Olivares, highlighted the importance of this event, which is one of the most anticipated moments for the city. Every detail has been taken care of, including the use of more sustainable elements to reduce waste without losing the essence of tradition." Olivares explained that in addition to the gunpowder, the facade of El Corte Inglés will be lit with more than 60,000 watts of sound and 40,000 of lighting. "We are going to fill it with music and fire," he emphasized.
The bellea del foc, Adriana Vico, and the child bellea, Valentina Tárraga, accompanied by their dames d'honor, also attended the presentation. "We are very eager to see the Arribada with all its surprises and enjoy these Hogueras," Valentina stated with excitement. An emotion shared by the adult representative: "I came in the car wanting to know everything," she added. This edition has a special surprise for Tárraga, 'El Fin del Mundo' is her favourite song, something everyone discovered at the presentation.
From the Federació, Olivares thanked all the technical and creative teams who made this edition possible, as well as El Corte Inglés for keeping alive an event that is already part of Alicante's collective imagination.
