Alicante is a province of cinema. This is demonstrated by the various films and series shot in its different municipalities. The region's versatility, along with its ability to transform into fictional settings, is evident. The upcoming shoot, a Hollywood-style western short film, is a testament to this.
The La Claqueta Film School in Petrer will transform the province of Alicante into the Wild West for the filming of its new project, 'West of Bitrit'. This story, set in the western genre, "has reached a semi-professional dimension thanks to the collective effort of students and the technical team," they explain.
The main filming of this new Alicante short film will take place this Saturday, April 26, in two locations in the province: the 'Fun West' studios in El Campello and the iconic outdoor settings of the Sierra de Petrer, such as Palomaret.
This project, developed entirely at the municipal film school La Claqueta in Petrer, involves more than 25 actors and actresses, along with about thirty extras and a professional technical team.
Numerous collaborations also feature, including guest actors Marc Almodóvar, Glauka Sirena, and José Antonio Pedrosa, who "have contributed their talent and experience to this production." Additionally, Ignacio Álvarez, a film stunt coordinator with over 20 years of experience in Hollywood, participates in the short film through action scenes and special effects.
One of the main challenges the filming of this short film, 'West of Bitrit', will face is the audio. The work will be recorded with live sound, thus providing "greater authenticity and quality to the performances," as detailed by the municipal film school.
Moreover, the short film will feature an original soundtrack "composed especially for the occasion." The melodies will accompany and enhance the narrative of this Alicante work, which takes shape following the completion of its script, rehearsals, technical and artistic planning, as well as sound, art, and scene directions.
