The Alicante Tram will continue to be free for those under 31. The Generalitat has announced a new extension of this measure, which was previously extended until January 31.
The Minister of Environment, Infrastructure, and Territory, Vicente Martínez Mus, explained that the Alicante Tram will remain free for young people while maintaining the 50% discounts on multi-trip tickets and temporary passes.

During his appearance in Les Corts, while debating this decree, the minister detailed the next date. The Alicante Tram will be free until June 30 for young people.
This extension aligns with the Consell's goal of "offering quality public transport, accessible to all families and universal," he assured while promoting "sustainable mobility."
The Ministry of Environment, Infrastructure, and Territory explains that holders of temporary passes and multi-trip tickets with a 50% discount do not need to take any action to enjoy these benefits during the first weeks of this extension approved by the Generalitat.
In the coming months, an update of the card will be necessary for young users.
The last renewal of this free card could be done at automatic ticket vending machines of the Alicante Tram, installed at stations and stops. The process involved inserting the card into the machine, selecting 'reload,' and pressing the button again.
Those meeting the age requirement - under 31 - who do not have this pass can apply for it through the TRAM d'Alacant website, in the appointment section.
The Alicante Tram will experience several strike days starting January 27 and throughout February. The stoppages will affect all tram lines during peak hours, both to and from work.

The four unions present in the TRAM d'Alacant works council (UGT, CCOO, SEMAF, and SF) have called these partial stoppages for the management of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGV) to approve the improvements agreed upon by both parties in an agreement last November.
This strike will affect all lines: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the TRAM starting Monday, 27th. During the last week of January, the stoppage schedule will be Monday to Friday, from 7 to 10 am. In all weeks of February, the stoppages will be Monday to Friday, both from 7 to 10 am and from 6 to 9 pm.
