The Alicante Tram will offer uninterrupted service for the second time in its history from Friday, June 20, until the early hours of Wednesday, June 25, amounting to 120 consecutive hours of operations to facilitate mobility for locals and visitors during the Hogueras festivities.
In total, 2,924 services have been scheduled, comprising 2,119 regular and 805 special services, providing 841,260 seats to users over the five main days of Hogueras. The tram and train-tram units will cover 45,296 kilometers.
This increase means that nearly 35% more services are provided during Hogueras compared to the rest of the year, with an expected 530,000 travelers using the Alicante Tram services over these five days.
Due to the anticipated high occupancy of trains and trams, the transport of scooters and bicycles will not be allowed in Zone A of the Tram (between Alicante and El Campello) from June 18 until the start of service on June 25.
From June 20 to 24, there will be trams running throughout the night until regular morning service resumes. Line 2 frequencies will be every 15 minutes; Lines 3 and 4 every 20 minutes; and Line 1 every 60 minutes. There will be seven services between Luceros and Benidorm, departing from the capital at 23:04, 00:04, 01:04, 02:04, 03:04, 04:04, and 05:04, and nine returning from the tourist city at 22:35, 23:05, 23:35, 00:35, 01:35, 02:35, 03:35, 04:35, and 05:35.
To ensure good service during Hogueras, Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has reinforced its staff with 15 drivers, 27 station agents, and 10 inspectors, in addition to increasing cleaning and security personnel.
Specifically, the 50 security guard services that provide regular service on the Tram will be expanded to 155 during the main Hogueras days to cover special services.
Closure of Luceros during Mascletàs
As in previous years, FGV, in coordination with municipal security services, will close the Luceros stop from June 18 to 24, from 13:30 to approximately 14:20, at the Federico Soto exit, due to the danger posed by keeping the facilities open during the pyrotechnic display held directly above this station.
FGV and the City Council have agreed to keep the closure as brief as possible to avoid interfering with rail service, and in any case, the nearby Mercado station will remain open to serve users.
