Alicante's Special Bonfires Unveil Their Best-Kept Secret

Les Fogueres Especials d'Alacant unveiled on Saturday, May 10, the sketches of the bonfires that will be set up in June in the top category, both adult and children's, of Alicante's official festivities.

The event took place in the gardens of the Alicante Provincial Council, where hundreds of bonfire makers, barrackers, and locals gathered to discover the best-kept secret of these commissions.

Among those present were founding members of the Fogueres Especials d'Alacant association: Fina Compañy, Juan Miguel Gomis, and José Ivorra; an entity celebrating its 25th anniversary with this traditional event showcasing the excellence of the top category.

The presentation of sketches was also attended by the Councillor for Festivities, Cristina Cutanda; the President of the Federació de les Fogueres de Sant Joan, David Olivares; the Belles del Foc, Adriana Vico and Valentina Tárraga; the President of the Alicante Artists Guild, Joaquín Rubio; the Coca-Cola delegate, Ramón Alonso; members of the Government team and the Municipal Corporation of the Alicante City Council, among other collaborators.

The event kicked off with the presentation of sketches from the children's commissions that compete in the Special category. Their artists, belles, and child presidents took to the stage.

The children's bonfires competing in the Special category include Ángeles-Felipe Bergé, Baver-Els Antigons, Diputació-Renfe, Florida-Portazgo, Foguerer-Carolinas, La Ceràmica, La Condomina, Passeig de Gómiz, Sagrada Familia, and Sèneca-Autobusos.

Following this, it was the turn of the adult commissions, who presented their sketches alongside their artists, accompanied by the belles and presidents. Additionally, the digital model of each bonfire was projected along with images of the workshops and the construction process.

The ten commissions integrated into Fogueres Especials d'Alacant are Baver-Els Antigons, Carolinas Altas, Diputació-Renfe, Florida-Plaza de la Viña, Florida Portazgo, La Ceràmica, Port d'Alacant, Polígono de San Blas, Sagrada Familia, and Sèneca-Autobusos.

'Projectes' was the theme of this new edition of the sketch presentation event organized by the Fogueres Especials d'Alacant association, celebrating its 25th anniversary, with the support of the Tourism Department, which contributes 40,000 euros to the collective. The Alicante Provincial Council, the Alicante City Council, the Federació de les Fogueres de Sant Joan, and Coca-Cola also collaborate.
