Alicante's Special Bonfires to Unveil Virtual Models

Countdown to reveal the best-kept secret of the Special Bonfires of Alicante, their models. This Saturday at 8:30 PM, the ten commissions will present a preview of the projects they will set up in the city's streets next June.

This new edition of the model presentation event organized by Fogueres Especials d'Alacant - celebrating its first quarter-century - is full of novelties. From the change of location, moving from Séneca Square to the gardens of the Diputación, to the prominence of the children's groups.

Thus, the meeting between bonfire artists and commissions will also be marked by technology. The artists will present their models traditionally, while the models will be virtual, recreated using 3D technology. The artists will explain them in a video to reveal all the details of Alicante's Special Bonfires.

Alongside the artists, the presidents and leaders of the various commissions will be present, as well as their belles; to whom they will hand over the models as a symbol of custody until the plantà next June in the streets of their Alicante neighbourhoods. Founding presidents of Fogueres Especials d'Alacant such as Fina Compañy, Juan Miguel Gomis, and José Ivorra will also attend, celebrating the 25th anniversary of this association's founding.

As revealed by TodoAlicante at the end of the last Bonfires, the artists of the ten Special category commissions are: Paco Torres at Baver-Els Antigons; Paco Giner at Carolinas Altas; David Sánchez Llongo at Diputació-Renfe; Juan Carlos Moles at Florida-Plaza de la Viña; Carlos Carsí with design by Carlos Corredera at Florida Portazgo; Palacio i Serra at La Ceràmica; Fran Santonja at Polígono de San Blas; Salva Banyuls and Néstor Ruiz at Port d'Alacant, Pere Baenas at Sagrada Familia and José Gallego and Toni Pérez at Sèneca-Autobusos.

As a major novelty in this edition of the Fogueres Especials d'Alacant meeting, all the children's commissions planting in the top category will also unveil their models. There are ten, and they will be represented by their children's presidents and belles, alongside the artists.

The children's bonfires of Alicante with their artists are: Ángeles Felipe Bergé with Ausiàs Estrugo; Baver-Els Antigons with Fernando Foix; Diputació-Renfe with Mario Pérez; Florida Portazgo with Manuel Rubio Armiñana; Foguerer-Carolinas with Álex López; La Ceràmica with Adrián Alcaraz (debut); La Condomina with Vicente Gomar; Passeig de Gómiz with Álex Cano; Sagrada Familia with Ceballos and Sanabria; and Sèneca-Autosbusos with Sergio Alcañiz.

From Fogueres Especials d'Alacant, they point out that this event of presenting models and virtual models is "the calling card of the city's ephemeral art", within a day of fraternity among the commissions, which will be attended by the newly elected belles del foc, Adriana Vico (from Diputació-Renfe) and Valentina Tárraga. The event is supported by the Conselleria de Turismo and in collaboration with the Diputación de Alicante, the Alicante City Council, the Federació de Fogueres, and Coca-Cola.
