Experts, technicians, and public officials gathered this Monday at the headquarters of the Territorial College of Architects of Alicante (CTAA) to launch a pioneering inter-institutional alliance aimed at preventing natural disasters in urban areas. This meeting opened a space for dialogue and coordination among entities with competencies, knowledge, and intervention capacity in emergency and urban resilience matters.
The meeting brought together institutional representatives, municipal technicians, civil protection officials, academics from the University of Alicante, and risk management experts. Among the main agreements reached was the collective commitment to continue advancing a more effective strategic planning, strengthen both technical and citizen training, and equip administrations with appropriate operational tools.
Additionally, proposed actions include conducting drills, launching specialized training programs, and creating a pool of experts to quickly intervene in emergency situations.
Participants have regarded this initial meeting as a decisive step towards building a more agile, coordinated response system adapted to the challenges of climate change, especially in a vulnerable territory increasingly exposed to extreme phenomena.
The CTAA deeply appreciates the participation and willingness of all attendees and commits to continue promoting these collaborative workspaces, focusing on prevention, anticipation, and the safety of our urban environments.
