The largest rap and hip hop festival in Spain has revolutionized Alicante on October 10, 11, and 12. The city of rap has once again shown why it is a genre leader, selling out before the gates even opened. From Alvdesc to Santa Salut, 58 artists took to the three stages at the Rabasa multi-space, making tens of thousands of attendees move to the beat of the bass drum and snare.

The festival brought together veterans and newcomers to create a lineup that evoked laughter, tears, and an inexplicable amount of emotions seen in the eyes of each attendee. From seasoned artists like Natos y Waor, SFDK, ToteKing, or El Chojin, to those taking the stage for the first time at the festival like Sosad or Grind, and those who have recently emerged but are poised to take the baton from their predecessors, like Ill Pekeño and Ergo Pro, Hoke, or Las Ninjas del Corro.

Rocanrola 2025: Generational Shift?

It is no secret that ToteKing and SFDK will hang up the mic at the end of their tour. Alongside other genre legends like Kase O, who is taking an indefinite break, or Nach, who also did not participate in this edition of Rocanrola, the pillars of rap in Spain seem to be making way for new generations. But talent continues to grow in the national scene, as ToteKing himself mentions in his latest album 'Luces Fuera', in his song with Ill Pekeño, "today I tell you with Peke in charge, because I know that with his lyrics my legacy is safe."

In 2025, the fourth edition of the Rocanrola Festival will take place, and the ticket sale date will be announced in the coming days, with new details that will shape the festival's new proposal for the next year. A festival that, presumably, could be headlined by a new generation of rappers who have grown up admiring those who shared the stage this year.

It is time for new promises, to bet on artists who debuted this year or came close. Even those who accompanied their friends to do backing vocals, like Makro with Grind or Clase.0 with Sosad. Rap is in good hands, and Alicante eagerly awaits to see what Rocanrola 2025 will bring.

The Rocanrola Festival, the great 360º hip hop party

Rap is not the only element of hip hop, and the Rocanrola Festival knows it. Thanks to a unique proposal, Alicante has paid tribute to the four main elements that make up the hip hop movement in all its forms and modalities.

In addition to the three main stages, the festival featured a large space called Living Park, dedicated to exploring culture through a wide program of activities to go beyond music. From urban sports, freestyle and improvisation battles, skate and BMX tracks, urban dance, beatbox by Grison, to graffiti with Barcelona artist Inocuo.

Thousands of attendees gathered in the city of Alicante from all over Spain and other international destinations. Less than 30 percent of the audience was from the province, reflecting the growth and expansion of the Rocanrola Festival, which increased in this third edition.

More than 4,000 people stayed in the camping and glamping area, in a space adjacent to the festival, which also featured a VIP Zone and Front Stage, a dining area with a varied gastronomic offer, and other complementary services such as a tattoo bus or a merchandising area.

The festival generated an economic impact of more than eight million euros in the city of Alicante, over 500 jobs, and nearly 100 percent hotel occupancy.
