The Alicante Provincial Tourism Board Markets Alicante to American Students

The Costa Blanca Tourism Board, in collaboration with the University of Alicante and the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) in Alicante, is organising a 'fam trip' aimed at representatives from international studies departments of educational institutions in the United States seeking to formalise and enhance their language immersion programmes.

Representatives from the University of California, Arizona State University, Carnegie Mellon University, and Purdue University are visiting the province to explore the Costa Blanca's offerings not only in educational and linguistic contexts but also in leisure, culture, sports, and gastronomy.

According to José Mancebo, director of the Provincial Tourism Board, "the Costa Blanca continues to establish itself as a leading destination for language tourism for international students, with a growing focus on the American market." In this regard, the head of the Alicante Provincial Tourism Board assured that more and more students from the United States, attracted by the quality of educational programmes, ease of language comprehension, and cultural immersion, are choosing our province as their language learning destination.

"The excellent air connection, affordable cost of living, and Mediterranean lifestyle make our province an ideal place for international education," stated Mancebo, who emphasised that the collaboration between our universities and the Tourism Board Costa Blanca "has enhanced the destination's appeal, ensuring that students not only receive top-notch language training but also enjoy a comprehensive experience enriched with cultural, social, and outdoor activities."

American academics will visit the University of Alicante campus in the coming days, as well as tourist sites such as the Santa Bárbara Castle. They will also enjoy a tapas tour and explore student accommodation options through host families, hotels, and residences.
