Firefighters from the Alicante Provincial Consortium have recently rescued a dog trapped on a cliff in Xàbia and three hikers in two separate incidents, one at Puig Campana in Finestrat - initiated early Tuesday morning - and another in Xàbia.

In the first case, the Consortium received a call around 8:46 PM on Monday from Polish climbers reporting that two members of their group had not returned from climbing Puig Campana in Finestrat.

The communication indicated that they were on the central spur, about one hundred meters from the exit. In Finestrat, Local Police officers awaited the Consortium's team with their drone to locate and confirm their approximate position.

After two hours of climbing, firefighters reached the group around 2:05 AM and accompanied them down, with no injuries reported during the operation.

The second rescue began at 11:20 AM and concluded around 1:40 PM at Cap Negre in Xàbia. Firefighters responded to a call about a Labrador dog trapped on a ledge about 30 meters up a cliff.

The firefighters received assistance from the boat of the person who made the call, which marked the vertical position of the dog to locate it since it was not visible from above due to the cliff. After rescuing the dog from the top of the rocks, they confirmed that it was in perfect condition. The operation involved a heavy rural fire engine with a foreman and three firefighters from Dénia station, as well as Xàbia Local Police with their drone.

Finally, between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM, firefighters rescued a woman on the trail from Cala Tangó to Cabo de Sant Antoni in Xàbia. In this case, a 68-year-old woman suffered a severe ankle sprain after accidentally falling while hiking.
