À Punt, after broadcasting the Palm Sunday Procession from Elche, is preparing extensive coverage of Holy Week celebrations in Alicante with live broadcasts of the most emblematic religious events. The public broadcaster will once again showcase the cultural and spiritual richness of these traditions, which are part of our heritage, while also highlighting other notable events in the Valencian Community that deserve viewers' attention. This is the planned selection for this year:

On Wednesday, April 16, the procession of Christ from the Santa Cruz neighbourhood in Alicante will be featured within the magazine programme presented by Ximo Rovira and Àlex Blanquer. The show, Bona vesprada, Comunitat Valenciana, will connect live from 5:00 p.m. with the Santa Cruz neighbourhood in Alicante, one of the most unique settings of Holy Week. From this steep location, the passage of the brotherhood members and bearers of the four floats of the Penitential Brotherhood of the Santa Cruz will be shown on one of the neighbourhood's most significant days.

The following day, Thursday, April 17, will feature the Holy Thursday procession in Alicante. Starting at 10:45 p.m., À Punt will broadcast the solemn procession in which five brotherhoods will parade through the city centre in a scene filled with devotion and respect. The highlight is the passage of the Last Supper, weighing 3,000 kilograms and carried by 200 people. This festival is declared of national tourist interest and will feature commentary by journalist Ferran Cano.

The passage of the Last Supper, weighing 3,000 kilograms, mobilises 200 Nazarenes who carry it on their shoulders

On Holy Saturday, April 18, À Punt will broadcast live from Castellón, starting at 11:45 a.m., the traditional Rompida de l'Hora de l'Alcora, a powerful sound manifestation symbolising the death of Christ. This event, recognised as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO, will feature commentary by Belén García Cantavella and contributions from Berta Báidez, who will be with the audience and participants.

In the evening, the solemnity continues with the general Passion procession in Orihuela, starting at 10:45 p.m. This religious event is one of the most spectacular in Spain and is declared an international tourist interest festival. With the participation of over 8,000 Nazarenes, 1,200 musicians, and several Roman centuries, the procession winds through the city's most emblematic streets for four hours. Journalist Ferran Cano will narrate the event.

The following day, Saturday, April 19, the Passion of Elche will take place. From the Gran Teatre d'Elx, the public television will broadcast the Passion of Christ play by the Grup Cultural Jerusalem. This theatrical work, declared a provincial tourist interest festival, recreates the last days of Christ's life, from the Last Supper to the resurrection.

À Punt will conclude the special programming on Sunday, April 20, starting at 9:30 a.m., with the live broadcast of the Encounter and Resurrection Mass from Torrent at 11:20 a.m. This event highlights the figure of the Queen of the Glorious Encounter, representing Germana de Foix, the Viceroy of Valencia in the 16th century, this year portrayed by the young Lucía Mora Santandreu. The event will be hosted by journalist Chus Lacort.

Premiere of the documentary 'Setmana Santa amb tots el sentits'

On Saturday, April 19, at 10:00 p.m., À Punt will premiere the documentary 'Setmana Santa amb tots els sentits', presented by journalist José Ángel Ponsoda and produced by Prime TV Alicantina. A journey through Valencian Holy Week through the five senses: the sight of processions with their colourful hoods and robes, the aroma of flower petals on the floats, the flavours of the Lenten recipe or sweet delights like the Easter cake, the sound of drums and trumpets from the music bands, and the touch of religious imagery with impressive religious sculptures.

An audiovisual proposal that offers a comprehensive view of Valencian Holy Week and invites viewers to delve into the religious tradition through the sensitivity and passion for the details that make it unique, as noted by the public broadcaster.

The Chosen

Last Monday, the public television premiered the successful series The Chosen, which will continue throughout Holy Week and Easter with daily broadcasts from Monday to Friday at 8:00 p.m. before NTC Nit.

The series, considered a global phenomenon, narrates the life of Jesus through the people who knew him best. It is also available on-demand on the À Punt website (www.apuntmedia.es).
