The city of Alicante twinned with Bavaria this Saturday. Several bonfires in the city will celebrate Oktoberfest this weekend, with beer bars, gastronomy, and shows.
The festive calendar of Alicante will have different hours, allowing citizens and visitors to make a circuit through the various neighborhoods and districts to experience the authentic German festival.
The taps will open at noon in the Plaza del Músico Óscar Tordera. It is there where the Benito Pérez Galdós bonfire has organized its Oktoberfest, which will extend until midnight.
The square will be adorned with the typical flags of the Bavarian region, marking the venue, which will feature live music throughout the day. Children's activities will also be on the agenda, with workshops on German themes related to this festival.
According to district details, German and Spanish beer will be served in half-liter mugs, accompanied by sauerkraut knuckles, potato salad or bratwurst and blockwurst sausages, typical dishes in Oktoberfest gastronomy.
The inauguration of the Oktoberfest of the Benito Pérez Galdós bonfire will be marked by the opening of the first barrel of Spaten and San Miguel at 12:30 pm, followed by live music with a performance by Musicalada and another performance.
The thematic children's workshops will take place in two slots, from 12:30 to 3:30 pm and from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, in the racó de la foguera. Additionally, the afternoon will continue with a 'pole dance' show by Fénix Estudio and a live charanga music concert with the Bandeta CAC Agost.
Oktoberfest will also arrive in the Tómbola neighborhood starting at 8 pm. The Plaza del Progreso will transform into the German city to delight the district's bonfire enthusiasts and the rest of the citizens with the charm of beer and Bavarian gastronomy. They will feature music and activities.
The party will also start in Polígono de San Blas at 6:30 pm with activities for the little ones as part of its sixth Oktoberfest. A gymkhana will be held, along with face painting and interactive dances. After that, the prizes for their social media raffles will be awarded.
Dinner is scheduled for 9 pm at the Oktoberfest in Polígono de San Blas, at its plantà site on Doctor Rico Avenue, with typical German beer and gastronomy. After that, at 10 pm, there will be a 'beer pong' championship for couples, followed by a Bavarian costume contest among the attendees.
Other countries of the world like Mexico will also be present in Alicante, with a night dedicated to the Aztecs at the Carolinas Altas bonfire. It will start at the same time on Doctor Buades Street. The Benalúa Fest will also be held this Saturday.
