Alicante Port Prepares for a Record June: 24,700 Passengers with Four Cruises During Hogueras

June is expected to be a busy month at the port of Alicante with the arrival of 13 cruises bringing over 24,700 passengers. With the MSC Música, which uses Alicante as its embarkation point, operating at full capacity and arriving every ten days, the variety of offerings will be extensive.

During these days, mega-cruises like the Arvia, with 5,200 passengers on board, will dock, as well as ships with fewer than 1,000 cruise passengers offering a more selective experience. Two double dockings are notable in the middle of the month and on the day of the 'plantà' of the Hogueras.

In fact, during the city's major festivities, 6,213 cruise passengers will arrive in Alicante over three days and four cruises: a double docking on the 18th, the 22nd, and the 24th. On the day of the 'plantà', the luxurious Marina from Oceania Cruises, with 1,250 passengers, will dock alongside the exclusive Seven Seas Splendor, from Regent Seven Seas Cruises, with 750 cruise passengers on board.

On June 22nd, the MSC Música will make another appearance to cover its Mediterranean route, and on the 24th, it will be the turn of the Spirit of Discovery from Saga Cruises. This is a luxury cruise with a capacity for 999 passengers and 523 crew members on board.

Thus, May concluded with the arrival of the Arvia this Saturday, bringing 5,200 passengers. The start of the high cruise season is off to a flying start, with several ships debuting at the port of Alicante, offering a surprising variety, including several ultra-luxury ships, with cabins exceeding 24,000 euros per guest.

Despite April being the best month in terms of dockings, the 13 ships scheduled for June will bring over 24,700 passengers, making this month one of the busiest periods alongside August and the past May.

In total, according to the Port of Alicante, 100 dockings are scheduled. October and April will be the months receiving the most cruises, with 15 and 14 respectively, while the flow in other months will vary from seven to 12. It is expected that in 2025, the number of cruise passengers will exceed 250,000.

September and October will be among the months with the highest passenger influx, while the last major ship of the season will arrive on December 31st to close a season that promises to be historic, with figures likely surpassing 250,000 passengers.
