Alicante Port announced on Wednesday the promotion of an advanced data management system. According to port sources, this initiative will enhance the analytical capacity and strategic decision-making of both the entity itself and the companies within its logistical ecosystem.
With a planned duration of three months, this pilot project will serve as a foundation for future technology integrations, including drones, digital twins, and data-driven circular economy solutions. The institution expects the creation of a 'Data Lakehouse' to bring substantial improvements in "operational efficiency, sustainability, emission reduction, and greater predictive capacity in an increasingly competitive and changing environment."
The initiative is funded by European grants requested by the Alicante Port Innova association. The technical execution is carried out in collaboration with InferIA, a startup specializing in knowledge extraction from large data volumes, reinforcing the open innovation approach promoted by Alicante Port Innova through the Ministry of Industry and Tourism's Activa Startups program, according to port sources.
With this step, Alicante Port Innova "reaffirms its role as a driving force of innovation in the port environment of the Valencian Community, promoting high-impact solutions that connect technology with the real challenges of the sector."
