The budget project has been approved with support from the PP and other member entities, abstention from Vox, and votes against from PSOE, Compromís, and EU-Podem.
«Although housing accounts are reduced compared to those of 2024 by 1.3 million due to the
completion of expansion works at Centro 14 in the Old Town, they maintain a strong investment to launch projects aimed at expanding social housing and affordable rental options for young people, exceeding 920,000 euros and expected to be reinforced with new investments via surpluses in 2025,» explained Carlos de Juan.
Carlos de Juan also explained that the budget reduction is due not only to the completion of Centro 14 but also because the allocation for the Neighborhood Plan included in the 2024 budget is transferred to the Urban Planning department this coming year. The councilor highlighted that personnel costs increase by 3.6%, including a salary increase set at 2.5%, as well as implementation of professional career paths and adjustments planned in the Job Position List (RPT). Savings are also observed in reduced electricity bills.
The councilor also highlighted that it is planned to restart completion works for El Portón's 15 apartments before the end of fiscal year 2024 and secure additional funding via surpluses to continue advancing social housing projects being worked on by the Board.
